BzzzzKill for P-90
Engineering a BzzzzKill for a P-90 is a completely different beast than a Stratocaster, Telecaster, or Jazz Bass. P-90s feature a much wider bobbin and are wound significantly hotter than normal single-coils. Because they capture a massive footprint of electromagnetic interference, a completely re-engineered system is required to successfully cancel the noise without destroying the P-90's signature gritty midrange barking tone.
During the R&D process, two distinctions came out and we developed a family for each.
- P-90 BzzzzKill for pickups wound with 42 gauge wire. Single and Dual.
- P-90X BzzzzKill for pickups wound with 43 gauge wire. Single and Dual.
Simply match the P-90 pickup gauge wire to the BzzzzKill gauge wire.
Most vintage / standard P-90 pickups will be wound with 42 gauge wire.
Modern hotter P-90 pickups will be wound with 43 gauge wire.

How to Choose the Right Model
Use this simple volume control test:
- If your P-90® does not buzz in the middle position of your pickup selector switch, you need a Dual BzzzzKill for P-90’s.
- If your P-90 buzzes in every position of your pickup selector switch, you need the Single BzzzzKill for P-90’s instead.
